Comerica's Move to Dallas

A well known Michigan company is striking a big blow to the Wolverine State's economy.

Comerica is pulling its home offices out of Detroit.

The company made the announcement today.

It is moving its corporate headquarters to Dallas.

Comerica says the move will put it in a more central location and provide easier access to markets.

Today's announcement upset Governor Jennifer Granholm.

She is in the middle of holding town hall meetings to talk about the state's struggling economy.

Michigan's unemployment rate is 7%.

The national average is 4.6%,
