Stress May Increase Acne in Teens

It is not uncommon for pimples and blackheads to accompany kids through their teen years, and new research from Wake Forest University’s School of Medicine finds a significant link between stress levels and acne.

In fact, teens who were under high levels of stress, such as during exam time, were 23% more likely to have increasingly severe outbreaks of pimples.

Researchers say the link is not necessarily caused by an increase in oil in the skin; rather inflammation may play a role.
