Police in suburban Detroit say a man accused of killing and dismembering his wife has confessed to the brutal crime.
Grant was found yesterday morning in Northern Michigan near the Mackinac Bridge.
Police say a shoeless and coatless Grant gave up easily in the 14 degree weather.
He took off from his home Friday after police found Tara’s torso and other body parts in and around the couple's home.
Prosecutors talk about the piece of evidence that led them to search for Grant.
"It was a zip locked bag found in a wooded area not far from the defendant's home which contained latex gloves, baggies, metal shavings and human blood. That was the final piece of evidence that got us probable cause," says prosecutor Eric Smith.
Police say Tara Grant was strangled.
They say Stephen Grant has told them gruesome details about the case and that the couple's children were in the house when he killed their mother.
