Dozens of high school hockey players are in South Bend this weekend, hoping to get their shot at the state title.
Class 1A and 3A teams from across the state are competing for spots in the state tournament at the South Bend Ice Box Saturday and Sunday.
Penn Gold, Penn Black, Clay and Adams teams represent Michiana at this weekend’s tournament. "Hockey is the team sport, you have 15-20 guys. But you know, when you've got freshman and seniors, it's neat to see them grow. But, this time of year, all the hard work throughout the year, pays off hopefully, and you get to play next weekend, says Hockey Coach Bryan Cline.
Two teams from each class will advance to the finals that will be held March 10th in Indianapolis.
