The Prairie Vista Elementary School gym was not filled with sound of yelling and bouncing balls today.
It was filled with the sound of silence while more than a hundred fourth and fifth graders took time out of their Friday afternoon to read.
The students collected pledges to read for three hours they finished just a few minutes ago.
The Read-a-Thon is an event the school holds every year in honor of Doctor Seuss’s birthday.
