State Supreme Court Uphold PHM Accident Judgment

A $200,000 judgment against the Penn Harris Madison School Corporation will apparently stand according to Indiana’s Supreme Court.

PHM was ordered to pay a former student who was injured during a dress rehearsal for a school play in the fall of 2000.

Then 17-years-old, the student was hurt during the malfunction of a pulley mechanism designed to make Peter Pan fly.

The school system appealed, saying the jury had received bad instructions, but the State Supreme Court ruled that a new trial was not necessary.
