A trial date was set today for a South Bend cop, accused of domestic battery.
Sergeant Wayne Boocher was arrested in January at the Target on Ireland Road.
Witnesses say he was arguing with his wife and hit her in the mouth, in front of two of their children.
Boocher is a 15 year veteran of the South Bend Police Department.
He is scheduled to go on trial August 9th.
If convicted, he would never be able to carry a gun or serve as a police officer.
