60 to 80 new jobs will be created in South Bend as Raco, Inc. moves a distribution facility from South Holland, Illinois, to Indiana.
The hiring should begin in the second quarter of 2013 with the average starting salary listed at $34,000.
Raco considered locations in four states before settling on a new 105,000 square foot facility in the Portage Prairie development near Cleveland Road and the bypass.
Governor Mitch Daniels, (R) Indiana, says more than 30 companies have now moved various operations from neighboring states to Indiana.
Today’s announcement was made at Raco’s manufacturing facility off Sample Street in South Bend. The plant now employs 300 workers.
Raco makes metal junction boxes for a variety of electrical products.
