The management may have changed, but traffic volume pretty much remains the same on the Indiana Toll Road.
Figures were released today, comparing toll road traffic for the last six months of 2006, with the same period a year earlier.
Overall traffic was up 1.3%
Heavy truck traffic was down 3% on the western most portion of the roadway, with the drop being blamed on the Dan Ryan construction project. "The heavy represents heavy trucks, just as it sounds semi basically they were using our western portion and the skyway to connect with the Dan Ryan, to further travels north and to the west, with that they went to the Borman to avoid that construction," explains Matt Pierce of the ITRCC.
Meantime, the transition is complete and none of the people working for the Toll Road are state employees.
83-percent decided to go to work for the private company who now runs the Toll Road.
The rest were placed in other state jobs.
