In South Bend, Fat Tuesday means one thing, and that is Paczki day.
Local bakeries spent the day getting ready for the onslaught of Paczki fans.
Macri's bakery in South Bend has been working overtime to get the more than eight thousand Packzis they plan to sell tomorrow ready.
The doughy delights are usually filled with fruit or custard along with whipped cream.
So far the most popular filling is strawberry, the least is prune.
Macri's says they are bringing in an extra 12 people tonight to get ready.
“Put your order in because it's definitely a constant flow of people and we do run out but we sell quite a few,” says bakery owner, George Macri.
As for how much fat and calories are in the delectable pastries, the folks at Macri's say "don't ask."
Be sure to tune in tomorrow morning for 16 morning news when Joel Schipper will be out live making Paczkis during the show.
