The controversial Vagina Monologues will not be performed at Notre Dame this year.
But the show will go on somewhere.
According to the student newspaper The Observer, organizers say they could not find an academic sponsor, which is required for an event to take place on campus.
The Vagina Monologues has caused a firestorm of controversy at Notre Dame.
Supporters say it should be allowed on campus because of academic freedom.
Opponents say it conflicts with Catholic values, with its sexually explicit theme.
Organizers say they are looking at several venues off campus to perform the play.
