High School Student Provides Valentines Cheer to Seniors

An area high school student spent her snow day spreading Valentine’s Day cheer.

St. Joe High School Student Allyse Walton was busy spreading smiles at Countryside Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Walton took time to smell the roses with senior citizens.

A Mishawaka High School group was supposed to visit the nursing home today to deliver the flowers.

However, when school was cancelled, the visit got scrapped.

So, Walton decided to lend a helping hand.

Allyse said, "I think everyone should get a rose on Valentine’s Day. They all seem very happy and surprised with the roses and I think that's really nice it cheers them up."

The Valentine flowers proved to be just what the doctor ordered.
