Indiana Senate Committee Clears Teen-Driver Legislation
A bill that would make it tougher for teens to get a driver's license cleared an Indiana Senate Committee on Tuesday.
The legislation bans teenage drivers from using cell phones, limits driving hours, and moves the driving age to 16-and-a-half.
Supporters say the restrictions will make the roads safer.
However, some lawmakers are skeptical.
Before you can get a license, the bill also requires at least 50 hours of supervised driving practice; ten of those hours at night.
Critics say logging that much practice may be a struggle for some teens.
