If you have had a vasectomy, you may be at an increased risk for dementia.
Researchers recently looked at a small group men with PPA, a form of dementia where patients have trouble recalling and understanding words.
And compared them to men with no cognitive impairment, they found 40% of men who had PPA had a vasectomy.
One possible reason for the increase risk?
After a vasectomy, the body creates anti-sperm antibodies that could make their way to the brain, potentially causing damage.
