Mystery Bee Deaths

Something is killing thousands of bees across the country, and scientists are stumped at what it is.

The mystery illness has destroyed thousands of honey bee colonies.

Scientists and bee keepers are trying to figure out why some keepers have lost as much as 50% of their bee populations.

The drop off in bees will only mean less honey.

It could mean fewer flowers and fruits since bees are needed to pollinate crops.

Researchers think they have found some clues, but do not have a definitive answer yet.

Those clues center increased foreign fungi and bacteria that is found inside the bees.

Scientists have also found bees with a weakened immune system.
