The debate over Indiana’s cigarette tax continues.
House democrats plan to introduce a health insurance plan this week that may include a four and a half cent increase.
That is far less than the 25-cent increase suggested by Governor Daniels.
He says raising Indiana’s cigarette tax would help provide health care coverage to at least 100-thousand low-income Hoosiers.
The current cigarette tax is 55 and half cents per pack.
