People braved the cold today to raise some cold, hard cash for a great cause.
Holding signs the young and old stepped out in South Bend this afternoon for the annual "Winter Walk"
The one-mile walk raises money to help women and children of St. Margaret's House.
The organization helps struggling women to get back on their feet and it is their largest fundraiser of the year.
Kathy Schneider of St. Margaret's house says, "People can really get to understand not everyone has a car and when people need to get out and pay their bills and go somewhere to eat of get services they have to face the elements and that's what we're doing today."
Schneider says St. Margaret's house served over 19-thousand meals last year.
The "winter walk" fundraiser helps the organization pay for food and heat so they can help others.
