16 Saturday Morning Weather Poems

The Weather Could Be Verse

Gary Sieber's poems from Saturday, February 10.

Valentine’s Day is just
four days away, so you
guys better get things
in motion,
I’m giving my wife a
southern vacation… Yes,
the weather’s much
warmer in Goshen

“I spared no expense, my
dear. Your Valentine’s
gift is class-ville.”
“You bought me flowers?
You bought me a car?”
“Nope… I paid the
gas bill.”

I like playing golf in the
winter, the game doesn’t
mess with my head,
A water hazard won’t
bother me much,
when I’m playing ON it
instead.

Frigid cold can make
me dizzy, my senses
it distorts,
The other day, it hit 10
degrees, and I ran
outside wearing shorts.

“How nice of you to say,
my dear, you enjoy being
home with your cupid.”
“I didn’t,” my wife said
mischievously, “I said,
‘Boy your poems are
stupid.’”

A normal winter on
Simonton Lake is quiet and
peaceful offshore,
But make no mistake,
today it will quake
with golfers all hollering,
“FORE.”
