The temperatures got into the double digits today so it wasn't as hard to get outside in the cold today.
Especially if you were going outside to have some fun!
For some it was an opportunity to get outside and strap on some skis!
Sarah Crakes decided she wanted to learn how to cross country ski Berrien County's Madeline Bertrand Park.
“I've always seen it on like TV shows and stuff and thought it be fun but I've learned... hills aren't my thing,” says Crakes.
She picked a good day to do it.
“It’s a gorgeous day today. Sunny like I said the snow is just perfect, powdery, nice smooth run you don't get that icy condition where you are slipping and falling all the time,” says skier Dave Benak.
But thanks to this year's lake effect snowstorm, there's actually snow to ski on at the park.
Last year that wouldn't have happened.
“No snow... a couple of inches here a couple inches there won't help us out... we need at least a couple of feet or at least a foot to get us going,” says assistant park manager Derek Tyler.
Park leaders expect to see three times the number of skiers this weekend compared to last with people taking advantage of the snow and sun while they can.
“Anytime you can get out and enjoy and beautiful winter day like today you have to take advantage,” says Benak.
