Athletes Participate in Blood Drive at Hall of Fame

There is no lack of snow here in Michiana, but the blood supply is coming up short.

Friday, the "Street Kid’s Softball Team" held a blood drive at the College Football Hall of Fame.

The athletes wanted to do something to give back to the community and they knew the blood supply needed a boost.

T.J. Jorgensen plays on the softball team. He said, “The biggest thing is that we want people in the community to come out. I mean, it’s a little cold out there. But people don't realize your one pint of blood can save 3 lives. I mean, that’s a miracle in itself.”

Friday’s drive is over but that does not mean you can not give blood.

There is still a shortage of type O-positive.

No appointment necessary, just head over to the South Bend Medical Foundation's office on Edison road.
