A man accused of killing his elderly neighbor made an appearance Monday morning in St. Joseph County Court.
David Strange, 46, is charged with murder and forgery in the death of 75-year-old James Lydeen.
Back on January 11th Lydeen was found dead in his South Bend home.
Shortly before his death, Lydeen went to his bank to complain about checks that had been written on his account without his permission.
Police say that investigation led them to Strange.
In court Monday, a plea deadline was set for June fifth.
If no plea is reached, Strange's trial will begin August 13th.
