Cold Weather May Bring on Heating Problems

The bitter cold temperatures may cause some problems in your home.

I&M Heating owner, Jeff Beyer says he has already been out on five emergency calls Sunday morning.

He got calls from customers complaining that their heaters could not keep up the cold.

In reality though, he says most problems happen when a homeowner does not change the furnace's filter, or keep their home sealed properly. “A lot of times I think probably forty percent of one reason would be they don't take proper maintenance procedures for their furnace you need to get them checked every year before the season starts and that will eliminate a lot of future problems if you call up a heating company and schedule regular maintenance program with them.”

This cold weather is also causing some problems with frozen pipes.

Experts recommend spending a few extra bucks for a thermostat or purchasing some pipe insulation.
