A Video Game That is Good for Your Child

Video games and their effects on your child's health have been a controversial topic for years.

However, researchers are saying some video games may be a positive for your child's health.

One specific game researchers are saying let your children have is Dance Dance Revolution, or DDR.

It requires kids to dance and jump around.

A new research believes DDR might be just the video game for helping overweight preteens improve heart function, and possibly even to lose weight.

The study took 50 kids ranging in ages seven to 12.

It found that those who played DDR for at least 30 minutes, five days a week for 12 weeks saw improved heart artery function and fitness levels.

Those kids also did not see a weight gain, compared to kids who did not play and gained an average six pounds.
