While a lot of folks around Michiana wore Colts blue or Bears orange and blue a lot of other people had on red for a very good reason.
Friday is National Wear Red Day across the US.
People all around the country and our community donned the color to raise awareness about women and heart disease.
It is surprising to some, but heart disease is the number one killer of American women.
A lot of employees showed their support by wearing red Friday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Kimberly Erby stated, “We were able to donate $5 able to wear red tops and blue jeans for who chose to wear jeans today.”
Employees at St. Joe raised $600 for the American Heart Association.
