While many people will be watching the Super Bowl to see who wins, many more will be watching for the commercials.
A Wakarusa family will be among those, since their son is actually in one of those high-priced spots.
Wakarusa Native Ryan Woodle has pursued a career in acting ever since he was a little boy.
His mom, Jean, says he's always been a ham. "It was like natural for him,” she says. “I think he was born an actor because he was always entertaining whether he was really trying or not."
When Ryan got to Northwood High School, he was involved in many theatrical productions. In his senior year he was the father in “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”.
Ryan put himself through Ball State, majored in theatre, and worked on his dream.
His mom says he, "Ate, slept, drank, lived theatre every minute.”
After graduation, Ryan appeared in several commercials appearing in a series of spots for Combo's pretzels.
But on Sunday, Ryan will hit the big time, acting in an ad for Footlocker and Adidas.
His mom is overjoyed. "To be picked to do a Super Bowl commercial is like, it's huge," she says.
In the ad, two friends are buying shoes. Kevin Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves comes by and signs the friend’s Garnett-designed shoes.
Ryan’s mom says, “And he goes to sign something for Ryan, well Ryan’s character doesn't have any shoes and he's like, 'I don't have anything for you to sign', and he's like, 'Here, sign my face!'"
Ryan's family will watch the spot, confident he's following his dream.
"That's the most important thing for us; that he remains the kind of person we've taught him to be and that he never forgets where he's from or who he is; just Ryan from Wakarusa.”
The 27-year-old is still stunned with his success.
He's even auditioned for a role with Ben Affleck.
Ryan actually manages a restaurant and tends at a bar six days a week, going to auditions with only a few hours of sleep.
