Exercise: the Secret to Longevity?

It is hard for many to get up and go to the gym on a regular basis when we are young, let alone when we are approaching the century mark.

But, Marion downs of Denver is not like many of us.

In fact, she just celebrated her 93rd birthday by doing what she loves.

Learning to live, it takes experience.

And when we need advice, we need the most qualified experts, someone like Marion Downs. “What’s my secret,” she asks. “Exercise. And the right kind of food.”

This is Marion's birthday, her 93rd birthday.

She is celebrating with a group of people half and in some cases one tenth her age.

She is showing them some of the exercises she does every day.
"Get out and have an exercise routine every morning. Discipline yourself to do it, do it the same day, the same hour every day, have a schedule that you keep to."

Stretching and walking are just part of Marion's routine.

She also swims, skis and plays tennis. "The happiest thing I do is have fun with my 24 great grandchildren. They range from 3 months to 18 years and they'll ski with me until they get so good that they go too fast for me."

Marion knows how to live.

She is eager to share her secrets.
Way back when she was 92 she wrote a book titled “Shut Up and Live.”

Happy Birthday Marion.

We can only dream of looking like you in a few more decades.

"I wish you all feel as good as I do at 93," Marion replies.
