An annual tradition lifts the hearts, souls and voices of area students.
The 16th annual All Schools Mass was held Wednesday morning at Notre Dame.
Catholic elementary school students, teachers and parents came together for the mass.
Bishop John D’Arcy, who is celebrating his 50th year as a priest, presided at the service.
"It’s been a joyful and a wonderful experience. This mass for our young people is part of that and part of thanks to God," says Bishop D’Arcy.
More than 6000 students attended Wednesday morning's mass in the Joyce Center, some serving as greeters, gift presenters and incense bearers.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese, the Jubilee Pilgrim Cross was carried during the gathering procession.
