Sun Needed to Help Prevent Skin Damage

The bright sun is normally something we try to avoid.

Researchers from Stanford say exposing skin to the sun for short periods of time may actually help protect the skin from sun damage.

Sunlight causes the body to make vitamin d.

Then, according to the study, immune cells gather at the outer layers of the skin and help repair damage.

The findings are preliminary. Researchers still recommend slathering on the sunscreen.
