The Indiana House approves hiking the state's minimum wage.
By a vote of 71-to-29, the House passed legislation that would up the minimum wage and lessen the impact of inheritance tax.
The legislation would raise the minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $7.50 an hour.
It would also increase the amount of money children or other descendants could inherit tax-free.
Currently the first $100,000 is exempt from taxation.
The bill would increase the amount to $200,000. The bill now moves onto the Senate.
