Donnelly Visits South Bend Police

Joe Donnelly made a special stop in South Bend today to visit with police.

To get a better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes, Indiana’s 2nd district congressman took a tour of police technology equipment and systems.

Donnelly is working to obtain federal funding to help south bend police.

He says finding funds for new equipment like a new 4-hundred thousand-dollar palm print system.

Will help police solve crimes, identify perpetrators and keep the streets safer.

"This will be right near the top of the list, trying to get additional funds to come back so that we can help the police department," says Donnelly.

Donnelly says South Bend already has an incredible police department that helps other law enforcement around the region.

With more funding for newer technology, it could be even better.
