Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a morning house fire in Elkhart.
It happened in the 25,000 block of Sunset Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was pouring from the home, which made battling the fire difficult.
"When we first arrived, most of the damage was apparently coming from the bedroom on the backside of the house. This is a room that we [had] difficulty getting into. We had to go completely down one end of the house and back through some other rooms to get to the bedroom," says Oslo Fire Department Investigator, Danny Newcomer.
There were people inside the home when the fire broke out, but luckily, no one was hurt.
Firefighters say the home is a total loss.
