Renovated South Bend Theatre Draws Big Crowds

A newly-renovated South Bend Theatre is drawing big crowds and lots of "wows."

The new and improved South Bend Civic Theatre has been open for about a week now.

It took a year of work and $4 million in donations to make it look just right.

Officials with the theatre say patrons are very excited about the new accommodations.

Jim Coppens of the Civic Theatre stated, "They come through the doors, and they see this beautiful dome, great architecture, colors in here, and the brand news seats, and the beautiful stage, they're just blown away again."

Coppens added, "And we're not done yet, we still have another 300,000 to go, so if anybody's out there, who wants to help us finish the campaign, we're still looking for some more donations."

Most of the money raised for the theatre renovations came from generous local donors.
