Police apparently followed a trail of forged checks to solve the murder of a 75 year old man.
It’s a trail that lead to the arrest of the victim’s neighbor.
The body of James Lydeen was found last week in his home in the 200-block of East Dubail Street.
Court documents alleged that Lydeen was last seen alive at a local bank on December 28th.
Lydeen was apparently concerned about checks that had been written on his account, without his permission.
At another bank, a security camera captured 46 year old David Strange handling one of the checks.
Strange lives next door to the victim and has now been charged with murder and forgery.
Court documents allege that Strange told his mother that he took Lydeen's checkbook, and then strangled the man in an ensuing argument over the theft.
