The newest big-box store on South Bend's Southside opens up Friday morning.
The long-awaited Wal-Mart on Ireland Road will open its doors at 7:30AM.
It is the second Wal-Mart in the city limits of South Bend.
Managers tell us it will be dramatically different from other Wal-Marts in the area, with a different look inside and some different things on the shelves.
The store's parking lot serves a second purpose; it caps off an old landfill on the site.
The city says it is very pleased with that result.
The store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
