Minimum wage workers in Indiana could be in for a raise.
A legislative committee Wednesday approved a measure that would raise the state's minimum wage to $7.50 an hour.
Right now, the minimum wage is $5.15.
Supporters of the increase say it would help Indiana’s lowest paid workers.
But critics are worried about small businesses and say a minimum wage increase would not reduce poverty.
Roughly 1.8 million Hoosiers earn minimum wage or less.
