The Indiana Supreme Court voted today, to delay the execution of Norman Timberlake.
Timberlake was scheduled to die Friday in connection with the 1995 slaying of Indiana State Trooper, Michael Greene.
Lawyers argued that Timberlake is mentally ill.
But, justices say the court decided to stay Timberlake's execution because of a similar case in the US Supreme Court that could see a ruling by this summer.
Timberlake was scheduled to die by chemical injection at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City.
