Tuesday, South Bend became another stepping stone on a continuing journey of artistic awareness.
Four men from Venice, California, who were in town Tuesday, call themselves The United Souls of Awareness.
Last April, they began walking across the United States.
Some 3100 miles later, they arrived in South Bend after a brief stop in Chicago.
"In Chicago, we stopped in school assemblies, trying to perform along the way to display our art and our music and stuff [and] try to connect with people in the towns we come across," explained Jonathan White with the United Souls of Awareness.
"We're going to be heading out; [we will] keep going east toward Elkhart. [If] anybody sees us on the side of the road [and] has some hot chocolate something like that, give us a honk and stop by," says Kevin Smith with the United Souls of Awareness.
The men are trying to build a network of artists needed to start a 24 hour Internet television station.
They hope their journey will wrap up in New York City in April.
