Conn-Selmer Pulls Out of Deal to Buy Woodwind and Brasswind

A local company has pulled out of a deal to buy Woodwind and Brasswind.

The South Bend music retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November, after it lost a lawsuit.

Last month, Steinway Music bid more than $40 million to buy Woodwind and Brasswind.

Steinway is a subsidiary of Elkhart based Conn-Selmer.

Tuesday however, Steinway pulled out of the purchase agreement because the company says certain closing conditions would not be met.

A Woodwind and Brasswind auction is set for the end of the month.
