Minimum wage workers in Indiana may be in for a raise.
At least five bills have been filed in the General Assembly to raise the minimum wage to more than seven dollars an hour by 2008.
Roughly 1.8 million Hoosiers earn minimum wage or less.
Some think an increase would hurt small businesses.
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce says that some business might have to cut jobs or find ways to pass the extra cost to the consumer.
Meanwhile Governor Daniels says he would be open to an increase.
