Police still piecing together deadly Elkhart shooting

Police are still piecing together a deadly shooting in Elkhart.

Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the Old Farm Apartments off Mishawaka Road for a fight and gunfire. Inside an apartment they found 24-year-old Alphonso Lee James Jr. of Elkhart dead. Another shooting victim, 29-year-old Noble Dennie of Gary, Indiana, had been shot in the shoulder. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Investigators interviewed Dennie and several other witnesses at the Old Farm Apartments but so for have not made any arrests. They continue to search for witnesses who may have left the scene before they arrived.
