Is There a Link Between Mother's Milk and Preventing Gum Disease?

Milk does a body good, especially if you are a new mom.

A new study in rats found those that didn't have enough calcium in their diet and were breastfeeding, were more likely to have deteriorating bone around their teeth and gums.

Breastfeeding rats that had enough calcium did not suffer any bone loss.

The demands for calcium are greatest immediately after a baby is born.

Researchers say human studies need to be done to confirm the findings.
