It is a big day for jumbo jelly bean lovers in Michiana.
The annual new flavor was introduced Thursday at the Wakarusa Dime Store.
Get ready for red licorice.
That is the newest addition to the dime store's lineup of jumbo jelly beans.
These certainly are not your average beans, they measure up to be about an inch long.
The tradition of adding a new flavor dates back decades for the store.
Debra McNally, a co-owner of the Dime store stated, "We kind of did it as a commemorative, because in 1969 we started with our black licorice jumbo jelly bean and we're also celebrating the fact that the founders of our store the Wolfberg dept. Store that actually introduced the jelly beans in 1969 is now turning 100 years old!"
If the red licorice does not interest you, there is always cinnamon, orange, chocolate-covered cherry or even a peas and carrots mix.
