Peru Girl Will Be Sentenced for Setting Mother’s Bed on Fire

We have an update of a story we brought you in November about a girl setting her mother's bed on fire.

A 12-year-old Peru girl will be sentenced as a juvenile for the fire and then faking her own abduction.

The girl's lawyer said she admitted to the arson charge during an appearance Wednesday in a Miami County court.

She apparently set her mother's bed on fire because of a fight over chores.

The girl then took off in the family car with her 8-year-old brother and 6-year-old sister and told police they had been kidnapped.

She will be sentenced in February.
