A 14-year-old boy from Portage is accused of threatening to kill one of his classmates, using the internet.

The fourteen-year-old boy remains in custody of Porter County tonight, after police determined he made death threats to a fellow student on her Myspace web page.

The victim told her parents about the threat after she opened her Myspace web-page last night.

Her parents contacted police, and provided printouts of the threats.

Police were able to track down the suspect, and took him into custody after he admitted to writing the profane messages on the victims web-page.

Both the victim and suspect attend Willowcreek Middle School.
The threats were made from a home computer, not from the school.
However the suspect faces possible expulsion since he threatened to shoot the girl at school.

The Porter County Sheriffs office is saying that this incident is positive news, because they were able to take the suspect into custody before anything physical happened.
