A man sentenced to death for shooting and killing an Indiana State Trooper in 1993 appeared at a clemency hearing Monday.
59-year-old Norman Timberlake submitted a clemency petition to the state parole board in Michigan City.
Timberlake claims it was a co-defendant who shot Trooper Michael Greene during a traffic stop in Indianapolis.
The final decision on clemency will be made by Governor Daniels.
Timberlake is scheduled to die by lethal injection next Friday, January 19th.
His lawyers have filed a suit in federal court to stop the execution.
