In the sleepy town of downtown LaPorte, Indiana is B & J's American Cafe. It's a mom and pop diner that serves American breakfast and lunch...nope, no dinner cause they close at 2pm.
What sets this place apart are the photos. The former upstairs tenant was a photographer back in the 1940's and when he moved out, left more than 17,000 photos to the restaurant. Customers are more then welcome to flip through the vintage photos of when life was a little slower and laid back.
The food is great. Their cinnamon rolls are out of this world and their omlettes are just as yummy. It's a great environment, cheap, with a homey feel. They're open from 6am-2 M-Saturday. 7-2pm on Sundays.
