Battle Creek Police Officers Charged With Excessive Force

Two western Michigan police officers are in trouble after they used too much force during a traffic stop.

It was all caught on tape.

It happened last month in Battle Creek.

One of the officers pulled a car with a loud muffler over.

He forced the driver to the ground.

Then, another officer ran up to the scene and kicked the man.

The first officer on the scene has been suspended for 30 days, and given five years probation.

The officer who kicked the driver was fired.

The man pulled over faces two misdemeanor charges.

Michigan state police are looking at this tape to decide if criminal charges should be filed against the officers.
