It's been decades since he was a freshman but Joe Donnelly stands ready to begin his first term in Congress.
Donnelly says improving the situation in Iraq will be his top priority after he’s sworn in next week, as Indiana’s Second District Representative.
According to Donnelly, “my job is to be a member of Congress who is there not to serve under the President,
but to serve with him, make him more effective, and work hard to ask the tough questions….if we do those things, we may find ourselves having more success in places like Iraq.”
Donnelly has already demonstrated fiscal restraint in deciding where he'll live while on the job in Washington.
Donnelly will rent a basement apartment in the home of his aunt, because the rent at other apartments was too high.
