Democrats Propose Referendum to Indiana’s Time Zones

Two Hoosier lawmakers are planning to take another look at Indiana’s time zones.

The Democrats want a referendum on the ballot in November 2008 so Hoosiers can voice their opinions about whether the state should be on Eastern or Central Time.

State Representative David Crooks of Washington says it will gauge public opinion and give lawmakers a better direction on how to proceed.

Another senator has filed a bill to require the governor to request the entire state be placed on Central Time.
