Flags Flown Half Staff in Remembrance of Former President Ford

Flags across Michiana and the country are being flown at half staff Wednesday evening to remember the 38th President Gerald Ford.

The U.S. flag code calls for the U.S. flags to be flown at half staff for 30 days after the death of a President or former President.

We found plenty of flags around Michiana lowered Wednesday as well as flags in the nation's Capitol.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm ordered all flags to be lowered at state buildings in the former President’s home state.
